Jeremias C. Tan, M.D.

Board Certified in Gastroenterology, Advanced Endoscopist
Clinical Assistant Professor, George Washington University Hospital

Chief of Gastroenterology at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital

Since joining GANV in 2006, Dr. Tan has served northern Virginia as an Advanced Endoscopist. He is a leader among leaders, and frequently the first to introduce new therapies that reduce residual health risks for patients. Dr. Tan is uniquely trained to provide ERCP, small bowel capsule endoscopy, and radiofrequency ablation of Barrett's Esophagus including the BARRX RFA procedure.

Over the past several years, Dr. Tan began to notice an increase in patients suffering with obesity related GI issues including Gastroesphageal reflux disease (GERD). Left Untreated, GERD can lead to more significant health issues such as Barrett's Esophagus and Esophageal Cancer. Dr. Tan is one of only a few local physicians trained to utilize the EsophyX device to provide the Transoral Incisionless Fundoplication or TIF Procedure, an effective, non-surgical solution for the treatment of chronic acid reflux. After attending several national conferences, Dr. Tan developed a special interest in the causal relationship between GERD- related disorders and Obesity.

In 2018, Dr. Tan and his colleagues launched GANV Health & Wellness Services, a concierge GI program dedicated to assisting patients in reducing their risks of developing more complex health issues such as cardiovascular disease (CVD) and colon cancer. Dr. Tan utilizes advanced technology to offer an array of non-invasive weight loss options including Intragastric Balloons: Obalon Orbera, Endoscopic Sleeve Gastroplasty (ESG), Aspiration Therapy (AspireAssist), Endoscopic Gastric Bypass Revision (RYGB) and treatment of post-surgical complications such as luminal stenting and endoscopic suturing.

Dr. Tan invites you to schedule a complimentary consultation with a GANV Health & Wellness, Nurse Concierge at (703) 776-1777 or email Wellness@NovaGI.com to learn more.

In addition to his oversight of GANV Health & Wellness Services, clinical care and hospital coverage, Dr. Tan also participates in Grand Rounds at Inova Fairfax Hospital. He has served as Chief Medical Resident and authored multiple articles during his fellowship and has presented at national meetings.
