Endogastric Sleeve Gastroplasty (ESG)

The Endoscopic Sleeve Gastroplasty, (ESG) is a clinically-proven, incision-less, weight loss procedure performed to help patients with a BMI over 30 (BMI Calculator) reduce abdominal fat and decrease risks of developing more serious weight-related health problems, including:

Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease
Heart disease and stroke
High blood pressure
Sleep Apnea
Type 2 Diabetes

Utilizing the Overstitch suturing device, the Endoscopic Sleeve Gastroplasty procedure allows our skilled physicians (Dr. Jeremias Tan or Dr. Ivan Harnden) to reduce the size of the stomach using an endoscope through the mouth without creating any external incisions. While the patient is under general anesthesia, the physician attaches stitching to the stomach lining using a cross stitch technique to reduce stomach capacity by cinching the stomach inward. This non-invasive technique is performed to help patients feel full faster without losing the integrity of the stomach's natural microbes that help to maintain brain health. The reduction in stomach capacity supports long -term weight loss without interfering with nutrient absorption.
