Coronavirus Update 3/23/2020

RE: Telehealth Replaces Majority of In-Office Appointments to allow Urgent Endoscopy Procedures and Infusion Appointments to proceed on-site safely.

Dear Valued Patients,

Over the next few days, our scheduling team will be contacting you to discuss our adjusted office schedules and ensure you have the information and support you need to prepare for your upcoming appointment. As always, please call us at 703-698-8960 with any questions you may have or visit us online at to learn more.

TeleHealth Appointments Now Available

Until further notice, Gastro Health, Virginia will be utilizing Zoom Cloud Meetings to provide TeleHealth Services in place of most in-office appointments. As each of us begin to practice social distancing to reduce the spread of COVID-19, this online option allows our team to continue to provide you with exceptional care from the safety and convenience of your home.

Urgent Endoscopy Care

Urgent procedures, as deemed appropriate by your physician, will be scheduled at our Javier Road location in Fairfax. We are working proactively to protect the health and safety of everyone entering our Javier Road location – patients, employees and our healthcare providers. COVID-19 Pre-Screening is considered a best practice for infection control and is strictly enforced. As we work to condense our physician schedules and prioritize urgent cases, please be mindful to adjust prep instruction dates and times as you prepare for your rescheduled procedure.

Infusion Patient Appointments Will Continue as Scheduled.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, it is essential for all Infusion Patients to continue to attend all regularly scheduled infusion treatments to reduce risks of disease flare ups and/or hospitalization. Flares currently outweigh the chance of developing COVID-19. In the event, you are unable to make your regularly scheduled infusion appointment, please contact our office to schedule a TeleHealth appointment as soon as possible.

Medicare Expands TeleHealth Coverage

Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) has expanded telehealth benefits in response to the Coronavirus pandemic. This guidance and other actions by CMS provide flexibility to ensure that all Americans -- particularly high-risk individuals have access to care.

Insurance coverage for TeleHealth Services may vary. We recommend contacting your insurance carrier to confirm your coverage benefits for TeleHealth services.

We appreciate the opportunity to participate in your digestive health.
